2015 Health Plan Rates


The 2015 premium rates for the WELS VEBA Group Health Care Plan ("WELS VEBA" or the "Plan") are now available. You may click this link or the link at the top of the page to find the 2015 premium rates for the plan options available in your area.

Increasing costs for medical services and prescription drugs, as well as fees related to the health care reform law, contributed to the 2015 rate increase amounts. The table below presents the rate increases for each plan option compared to the 2014 rates.

Important benefit enhancement! An annual maximum limit on member out-of-pocket costs for covered prescription drugs has been added to all WELS VEBA plan options for 2015. This maximum out-of-pocket limit for prescription drugs is separate from the maximum out-of-pocket limit for medical services. Once a member's out-of-pocket co-pay amounts for prescription drugs attains the annual limit, covered prescription drugs will be paid at 100% by WELS VEBA for the remainder of that plan year. Please consult the chart below to identify the out-of-pocket limits applicable to each WELS VEBA plan option.

During November 2014, WELS VEBA will hold a limited open enrollment period. During this limited open enrollment, if an organization has at least one worker enrolled in the WELS VEBA health plan as of 10/1/2014, all of the eligible workers at that organization will have a full open enrollment opportunity for 2015 coverage. At those locations, enrolled WELS VEBA members will be able to add eligible dependents and change deductible options. In addition, eligible workers who are not currently enrolled will be able to enroll themselves and eligible dependents under WELS VEBA. Coverage changes made during this period will be effective January 1, 2015.

If an organization has no workers enrolled in WELS VEBA as of 10/1/2014, the workers at that organization will not have an open enrollment opportunity for WELS VEBA coverage for the 2015 plan year.

Open enrollment materials will be sent to all eligible workers and sponsoring organizations by November 1, and the deadline to submit completed enrollments and changes will be November 30, 2014.

Note that the 6% HRA surcharge will automatically be applied in 2015 for members currently enrolled in Plan Option 3 or 4 with HRA, unless the member or sponsoring organization confirms during the limited open enrollment period that HRA reimbursements will not be provided to workers in 2015.
